I’ve been in love with the Osprey Raptor hiking backpack for a long time. This video will compare it to the Black Diamond Magnum to help you choose out which hiking backpack is right for you! The Osprey is a mountain biking backpack but it has a ton of features that work fantastically for hikers. I’ve used this bag for both purposes and it does not disappoint. The Black Diamond Magnum has a much more simple design, but it works great for any bulky things you might need to carry along on your day hike. A jacket or a hammock will stuff more neatly into the black diamond bacpack over the Osprey backpack.

If you’re looking for a lot of cool features, the Osprey is definitely going to be your bag. There are so many pockets, some obvious and some hidden, that enable this bag to carry everything you want and do so with a low profile. If you’re biggest concern is fitting your hammock and jacket in your backpack, then the Black Diamond might be a better option for you. This bag, while not packed with features, has the carry space you need to bring everything you want on your hiking adventure.
