There are better ways to spend your summer than just binge watching on Netflix. It's time to turn off the screen. Take advantage of these fun activities that you and your family can do together.

Aside from getting your eyes some much needed rest from glaring screens, camping is a proven bonding experience for the family. This is a chance to catch up on what's happening in school and learn more about your kids' interest.

Tips for a Successful Family Camping Trip:
1. It’s all in the packing.
Prepare a checklist and plan wisely. Is it an overnight camping trip or for two nights? This will help you assess how much food, clothes, batteries, toiletries to bring.
2. Camping essentials.
Tent, sleeping bag, flashlight, camp site map, materials for a campfire, first aid kit. Forget the rough and ragged imagery of camping. Spending time outdoors does not have to be uncomfortable if you have come prepared.
3. Play Games.
Aside from bringing your favorite boards games, make sure to bring some balls and a frisbee.
4. Go for a hike.
Your kids may not want to leave the tent to stretch their legs, but maybe a bit of IG worthy photos will do the trick to get them up and walking to capture great snapshots outdoors.
5. Check the weather.
Don’t just wing it. You may be all set to go but a sunny day can suddenly cloud over with heavy rainfall. This could be terrible if you have young kids with you. Schedule your trip when there is less chance of rain so that you will get to enjoy spending time outdoors without getting too muddy.

There are times when we get so caught up with our own stuff like work or school and we don’t get to chat with our loved ones. One reason is because when we get home after a long day, the first thing that comes to mind is to check our phones or go straight to bed.

Don’t let summer pass you by. Plan a camping trip and keep collecting those love-filled memories!
